VMS Software Inc OpenVMS Support Status 2019
VMS Software Inc. will develop and support subsequent releases of OpenVMS after 8.4.
These releases will support the latest generation of HP servers, based on the Itanium processors from Intel code named Poulson, the BladeSystem c-Class BL860i4, BL870i4, BL890i4 and the rack-mount RX2800i4 servers.
This will allow customers to upgrade their hardware platforms for better performance,
and extend the service life of their systems.
The next release of OpenVMS will be
binary compatible with prior OpenVMS Itanium versions, allowing customers to upgrade
without having to recompile or re-link their applications.
The last version developed and supported by HP is V8.4.
Subsequent OpenVMS versions will be developed by VMS Software Inc.
