AlphaVM-Pro

                                  Product Description

 

AlphaVM-Pro is a commercial Alpha emulator.

 

AlphaVM-Pro’s’s performance is on the level of Alpha EV6 systems.

 

The systems that can be replaced with this product are Alpha ES40 with EV6/500 and EV67/667 CPUs.

(1)  1 Ethernet controller based on DEC Tulip chip. The emulated Ethernet is mapped to the real ethernet by means of WinPcap packet driver.

Quick start

 

To simplify the first experience with the emulator we offer a pre-installed guest system, which you can immediately boot in the emulator. This pre-installed system is Debian Linux. It can be downloaded at the download page. Note that Linux is a slow boot, but once booted it is fast. This is because Linux boot is CPU intensive and the CPU speed in this product is relatively slow.

 

Licensing

 

AlphaVM-pro EV6-ES40 licensing

 

EMA Technology will provide license costs for AlphaVM. Please send us your Alpha configuration and we can supply detailed costings.

 

Guest OS licensing

 

Migration of OpenVMS and Tru64 to an emulator requires special transfer licenses, just like moving to a newer system. The licenses are not included with the emulator. Please contact HP for a transfer license.
